Art classes at the Saugus Senior Center began in Jan. 2011. Doris Napier (with 3 paintings in this show) is one of our founding members. About a dozen strong at its start, the seniors’ goal was to learn to draw and paint, and have fun doing it. Mission accomplished!
Our current group, is composed of artists of all levels, some quite
experienced and some at the earlier stages of their artistic development.
We do oil, or acrylic, or watercolor, pastel, colored pencil. You name it.
We believe in life long learning and that it’s never too late to start
expressing yourself creatively. We offer an open, welcoming environment
and try to nurture all of our artists, from “I can’t draw a stick figure” to “Wow,
I’m framing this one!”
And above all, we play nicely together too!
