1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Saugus Public Library is pleased to partner with the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program to provide you with the resources and encouragement to read 1000 books to your child before they begin kindergarten!

WHY: Reading aloud to your child is the most important activity you can do to prepare your child to learn to read and love it!

WHO: Any child from birth through pre-school

WHERE: At home, the library, preschool, anywhere you want to read!

HOW: Sign up, read books, record them, and collect books and prizes from the Treasure Chest! Prizes are awarded as you reach reading milestones.

YOU CAN DO IT!

If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. (Yes, you can read the same ones over and over!) That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at 5 years of age, you have more time than you think!

REGISTER TODAY!

Stop by the children’s desk to register or register on-line with Beanstack.

You can also download the user-friendly Beanstack app to your phone/device for free from your app store.
