Summer Concert: Sultana (History & Legends through Song) – August 20th

Our summer concert series on the big lawn at the Saugus Iron Works continues!

On Wednesday evening, August 20th, stop by for a program with songs and fascinating historical information on legendary people and events. The show will feature some songs about Massachusetts history. Other subjects in the show could include ancient Mesopotamia, a character from Arthurian legend, the Old West and a renowned radio broadcast.

 

 

This year’s lineup: 

Jul. 9: Coco Brown & the Invitation (Motown, Soul)       Aug. 6: Ditto (Rock & Folk, 60s & 70s)

Jul. 16: Memorylaners (50s, 60s, & 70s)                         Aug. 13: John Jerome (Rock & Country)

Jul. 23: Squeezebox Stompers (Cajun)      Aug. 20: Sultana (History & Legends through Song)

Jul. 30: Atwater & Donnelly (American & Irish Folk)       Aug. 27: Jump Street (Rock, Jazz, Funk)

 

This show, which runs from 6 to 7:15 pm, is funded by a grant from the Saugus Cultural Council, a local arm of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a State agency.

Bring a chair or a blanket. Picnic and family friendly.

This series is a collaboration between the Saugus Public Library and the National Park Service.
