Policy Watch: Unattended Children/Adults in Need Policy

The Board of Library Trustees approved a new policy on April 4th: The Unattended Children/Adults in Need Policy. This policy replaces our old “Unattended Minors” policy, and goes one step further, including language concerning those adults who cannot care for their own interests and require close supervision and care. The policy also discusses how staff should deal with children/adults in need left unattended in the library (particularly at closing time). The policy was staffed and revised internally several times and approved by the Saugus Police Department.
