Enjoy the great outdoors: Massachusetts Parks Passes!

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) has hundreds of facilities throughout the Commonwealth. Most DCR facilities charge a daily parking fee. Some add a surcharge to benefit a trust for future projects. The Saugus Public Library now offers a free one-day parking pass to DCR parks which will allow you to waive those fees. The passes are funded by a generous gift from the New Friends of the Saugus Public Library.

Our passes:

= Can be reserved online or in-person at the SPL

= May be picked up one day prior for weekday use.

= May be picked up on Friday before 2 p.m. during the summer, for Saturday or Sunday use.

= Must be returned NLT Midnight in its pouch on the day it’s used. Can be returned to book drop.

= Provide free parking at any DCR facility or beach where parking fees are charged (except Crane Beach in Ipswich and Lynch Park in Beverly).

= Are available to all SPL patrons including non-Saugus residents.

= Not valid for large vans or trucks.

= More information on the DCR Web site  or its Parking Information Page
