Art @ the SPL: Meditative Brushstrokes
Where: Reading Room, Saugus Public Library
When: November – December, 2026
Driven by the excitement and joy of a new, crisp, empty canvas, Melody began her self-taught painting journey in 2024 following a single sip-and-paint night. As a local practicing painter, her portfolio showcases an open exploration between bold acrylic canvases and textured mixed media paper. Rather than confining herself to a single style, she embraces an evolving process of trying different techniques, painting for the sheer love of the challenge. Her collection captures everything from the quiet sanctuary of nature to the striking gaze of historical icons. For Melody, the creative process is a deeply personal balancing act—an artistic outlet that is profoundly therapeutic and meditative, yet just as beautifully frustrating, all driven by a dedication to continuous practice and a goal of achieving more life-like results.

* All due dates for borrowed items and expiration dates for holds that normally would have fallen during this period will be extended to October 29th or beyond. No holds will be returned during the period of time.
* Patrons may return borrowed items via our drop boxes during this time, but no patrons can be allowed into the Library (except for Early Voting), and no holds can be picked up.
Our current hope is to reopen on Wednesday, October 29th. However, please watch this space for updates on when we can open.
We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming the community back into the Library once the painting is finished and our spaces are safe for public use.
