Art@the SPL: Paintings by Linda Lea Bertrand – Autumn Gold

During the months of October, November, and December, 2022, the Galleries at Lynn Arts (GALA) and the Saugus Public Library present Autumn Gold, featuring works by Linda Lea Bertrand. Linda’s work will be on display in the First Floor Reading Room at the SPL.

Linda Lea Bertrand’s paintings evoke peace and tranquility. Painting in plein air, among the changing landscape of New England, she looks for the calm among the activity of everyday life. Light features prominently within the marshes and coastal areas. This exhibit, Autumn Gold, is a selection of landscapes highlighting the golden hues of the season.

Initially self-taught, she has sought to improve her perception and skill by working with noted artists Daniel Green, David Curtis, and Jonathan Sherman. Linda Lea exhibits her work at private galleries and local art associations in her area. She participates in local Plein Air events.

She had paintings published in North Shore Life magazine and was selected twice as Artist of the Month at SeARTs, most recently in 2020. Originally educated as a Nurse Practitioner, Linda Lea started painting to alleviate the stress of working with the critically ill. She grew up in Saugus and now lives in Marblehead. Linda Lea currently has a painting in the “Portraits of Leadership” web gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

We will hold a meet & greet with Linda Lea at the Library on Saturday, October 15th, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Come meet the artist, view her works, and spend some time with other art lovers.
