    Boston was the Hub of Abolitionism: anti-slavery Bostonians, inspired by the legacy of liberty of the American Revolution, were determined to honor and extend that legacy to include freedom for slaves.

    Berenson will explore the role of Bostonians in persuading President Lincoln to wage war against slavery.

    Computer Classes are forming at the Library
    Would you like to know more about using your computer, using email to communicate, and searching for information on the internet? We will be having beginner computer classes which will cover this information and start you on your way to feeling more comfortable using these tools.     Saugus Digital Documents are Accessible on the Internet Archive

    The Internet Archive is a collection of cultural artifacts in digital form. The Archive preserves the originals while making them available at the click of a mouse.

    High School and Middle School Yearbooks, Annual Reports, Lists of Persons and other Town Documents are available.

    The project was Federally funded through the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Scanning was done by the Digital Services Department of the Boston Public Library. All documents will eventually reside on the Digital Commonwealth.

    Resume Assistance

    Are you looking for a job? If you would like some help in making your resume look more attractive to potential employers, drafting a cover letter, or just want someone to proofread your resume and cover letter, you can schedule an appointment with a staff member for a Monday or Tuesday evening between 4-7 p.m. Call 781-231-4168 ext. 16 to schedule a time. Please bring your resume with you at the time of your appointment.

    The library delivers materials to homebound Saugus residents. Books, audio-books, magazines, music and DVDs are all available. If you are unable to get to the library, either temporarily or permanently and would like delivery, please contact the library to request this free service or to learn more about it.
