Oceans of Possibilities, 2022 Summer Reading theme!
We can’t wait for this year’s Summer Reading program: Oceans of Possibilities! Kids read the books they love, log their reading and win prizes! They’ll learn about ocean life, and enjoy ocean themed programs, crafts and prizes.
WHEN: Monday, June 20th- Friday, August 26th 2022
WHO: Kids entering K to 6th grade
WHY: Win prizes – and keep those hard earned reading skills!
Prizes: Get a free chain and brag tag when you sign up, earn more beads and tags as you go along. You’ll be eligible for books, prizes from the cart, weekly drawings for pizza, ice cream, mini golf, etc. and grand prize drawings for a whale watch, sunset cruise and the Mystic Aquarium. Grand Prize drawings will be held by the the first week in August.
Read: Strive to read at least 20 minutes every day! It is especially important for kids to keep reading during summer so they don’t fall behind. It’s also an opportunity for kids who are a bit behind to catch up. To learn more about the importance of summer reading click here.
Be a Role Model: Parents, read while your kids read or keep reading to them. Talk about what you read.
Find Books They Love: Help them find materials they truly enjoy – picture books, readers, funny books, scary books, graphic novels, fact books, stories, sports, or biographies. Make it a fun part of a daily routine they look forward to!
HOW: Download the Beanstack App! 
Registration starts June 20th

REGISTER FOR A READING CHALLENGE: After you’ve created an account, this video will show you how to register for a reading challenge (starting June 20th!) using Beanstack. This is helpful if you’ve already registered for previous reading challenges using Beanstack.
HOW TO LOG YOUR READING: This video will show you how to log your reading using the mobile app.

Our digital collections provide easy access to the books kids really love! This summer enjoy an amazing selection of kid’s favorite books using the library’s free digital collections! Download fresh titles all summer using hoopla, Overdrive and Libby.
