2021 Children’s Summer Reading Program!

Get Ready for Tails and Tales, 2021 Summer Reading theme!

WHEN:  June 7 – August 20th 2021

The Children’s 2021 Summer’s Reading Program is going online!  Kids will be able to log reading, complete fun challenges, even write and illustrate book reviews.  And of course we reward our readers!  There will be prizes!

HOW: Download the Beanstack App!

Starting June 1st, we’ll provide step-by-step instructions of how to download the app, and register for Summer Reading at the SPL!

WHY:  Don’t lose those hard earned skills!

Create a reading habit, make it FUN then strive for at least 20 minutes every day!  It is especially important for kids to keep reading during summer so they don’t fall behind.  It’s also an opportunity for kids who are a bit behind to catch up. Be a Role Model:  Parents, read with your kids, read when they read, better yet, sign up for our adult summer reading challenge!  They also have great prizes!

WHO:  Prizes for Kids and Parents!

The summer reading program is aimed at kids entering K to 6th grade. We will have drawings for gift cards from local businesses and Amazon.  We’ll also have a special drawing for adults whose children register and complete the program.

WHAT:  Download free books from the Library!

Our digital collections provide easy access to the books kids really love!  This summer enjoy an amazing selection of kid’s favorite books using the library’s free digital collections!  Download fresh titles all summer using hoopla, Overdrive and Libby.
