We cannot accept book donations at this time

Thanks to all of you who donated books for the New Friends’ Annual Book Sale this year. While the sale was a great success, we have a considerable excess of books at this time and no more space to store them.

Therefore, we are no longer accepting book donations for the foreseeable future.

If you have excess books you’d like to donate, we suggest the following organizations which might welcome your clean and gently-used books:

Council on Aging: 466 Central Street, Saugus, MA (Large Print and Paperback books), (781) 231-4178

Salvation Army: 209 Broadway, Saugus, MA, (781) 231-0803

Savers: 1160 Broadway, Saugus, MA, (781) 231-1232

It is always a good idea to call ahead to make sure that these entities are accepting donations and on what terms they will accept them.

As always, please remember that most recipients don’t want items that are dirty, musty, or moldy. If you think your books might be, then simply recycle them or throw them away yourself. Please do not make your problem their problem.
