Children and families celebrated the Saugus summer reading theme of  Massachusetts and the American Revolution by coming out to experience local history through two militia re-enactment groups:  the 17th century Salem Trayned Band and the 18th century Lexington Minutemen .   Pikes, drills and musket firing were all part of the show.  Kids dressed up in period costumes and cooled off with ice cream.  We hope it captured their imaginations!

This program made possible by a generous donation from the New Friends of Saugus Library.
