Pick up a copy of our calendar at the Children’s Desk or see our online events calendar. Ages are recommended, but feel free to try our programs to find a just right fit for your child.  In addition to regularly scheduled programs, we offer a variety of Special Programs every month.

Playgroups @the Library through the CFCE   Nurture your child’s social skills and school readiness with these structured playgroups for four different ages.  Sponsored by the Coordinated Family Community Engagement Grant.

FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN

Babies and Books  Infants – 2 year olds.  Join us for stories, songs & rhymes, and  games.

Story time for 2s – 3s  Enjoy stories, songs, & rhymes.

Music and Mother Goose  Ages 1-4.  Join us for music & rhymes, dancing & clapping, shaking and marching!  We sing and have fun with shaker eggs, maracas, rhythm sticks, scarves, and a parachute.

Friendship Storytime & Playgroup!  Ages 2-4  Stories and activities to strengthen social emotional growth.

Let’s Get Ready for Kindergarten  Ages 3-5.  Led by a certified Kindergarten teacher, this program focuses on preschool development and skill -building activities.

FOR OLDER CHILDREN:

Nature & Gardening  Ages 5 and up.  Join us for planting, tastings and year-round fun!  This youth outreach program of the Saugus Garden Club explores nature, plants, and gardening.

Keeping Us in Stitches!  For children grade 2 and up.  Older children can learn to sew using a needle & thread (and maybe a sewing machine) with teachers Miss Joyce and Miss Margie. October – May

CFCE Full Steam Ahead  Join a CFCE Early Childhood Leader for fun STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities.

Homework Help  National Junior Honor Society students from Belmonte Middle school provide free, drop-in homework help to Saugus elementary students.
