Pick up a copy of our calendar at the Children’s Desk or see our online events calendar. Ages are recommended, but feel free to try our programs to find a just right fit for your child.  In addition to regularly scheduled programs, we offer a variety of Special Programs every month.

Playgroups @the Library through the CFCE   Nurture your child’s social skills and school readiness with these structured playgroups for four different ages.  Sponsored by the Coordinated Family Community Engagement Grant.

  • New playgroup for 3 year olds that fosters social and emotional development

FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN

Babies and Books  Infants – 2 years old.  Join us for stories, songs & rhymes, and  games.

Story time for 2s and 3s  Ages 2-3.  Enjoy stories, songs, & rhymes.

Pre-K Tales and Tunes Ages 3-5.  Join us for stories, songs, & crafts – just right for preschoolers!

Music and Mother Goose  Ages 1-4.  Join us for music & rhymes, dancing & clapping, shaking and marching!  We sing and have fun with shaker eggs, maracas, rhythm sticks, scarves, and a parachute.

FOR OLDER CHILDREN:

Youth & Nature  Ages 5 and up.  Join us for planting, tastings and year-round fun!  This youth outreach program of the Saugus Garden Club explores nature, plants, and gardening.

Reading Squad!  a kid’s book club for elementary school readers.  Join us to read and discuss books!  For our current title, see our print and online calendar.

Keeping Us in Stitches!  For children grade 2 and up.  Older children can learn to sew using a needle & thread (and maybe a sewing machine) with teachers Miss Joyce and Miss Margie.

FOR ALL AGES:

CFCE Full Steam Ahead  Join a CFCE Early Childhood Leader for fun STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) activities.

Just Build!  Lego, Kinex, and other cool building projects.

Homework Help  National Junior Honor Society students from Belmonte Middle school provide free, drop-in homework help to Saugus elementary students.
